Family Fun Night and Student TECHTREK Adventures
Thursday marked another successful Family Fun Night, where families gathered for an evening of laughter and learning. In addition to the array of games and activities, each child received a math game, a reading game, and a book to take home, fostering both fun and educational experiences. Families bonded over friendly competition and shared victories, strengthening family ties in the process.
The excitement didn't end there. Families and students eagerly awaited their turn with the TECHTREK trailer on Thursday night. As drones soared through the air and robots came to life, participants immersed themselves in a world of technological wonder. With expert guidance from our ITRT team, students honed their skills in drone piloting and robot programming, unlocking their potential as future innovators.
While Family Fun Night provided a platform for family bonding and entertainment, Thursday's TECHTREK session hopefully sparked a passion for STEM subjects. Through hands-on learning and real-world application, participants discovered the thrill of problem-solving and creativity, setting the stage for future exploration and growth.
The learning fun didn’t stop there. On Friday and Monday, the fourth and fifth graders had the wonderful opportunity to visit the newly built TECHTREK trailer. They were allowed to fly the drones through obstacles and code the Sphero robots. The ITRT staff provided this unique experience for our students. A very special thank you to several Holston High School students who helped make these events successful.
