  • Fall athletes must turn in your senior night information to Mr. Long ASAP!
  • Congratulations to the JV and Varsity Volleyball teams for winning the Mtn 7 District Championship. 
  • There will be a meeting for all students interested in Indoor Track on Monday, Oct 30 at 3:05 in room 400.
  • Cheerleading will be selling gameday tattoos Friday during lunches for $1.00. Show your Falcon pride for our last homegame. 
  • TSA members- please turn in your affiliation packets to Madison R. today.

  • Cheerleading tryouts for Basketball will begin Monday, Nov 6th from 3:30-4:30 in the Auditorium.

  • The IBAP team is taking orders for 'candy-grams' to be delivered on Halloween. They are $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00. You can order one before school or during your lunch period. Proceeds will benefit skills training in Bauchi State, Nigeria. 
  • Attention students- this is the last call for those who want to buy tickets from the FBLA for the Yeti giveaway. Tickets are $5.00 each and the drawing will be this Friday at the FB game. See Ms Whichard, Ms Patrick or Nick F. for questions or to purchase a ticket.
  • Attention FBLA members- your ticket money will be due to Ms Whicard by today. Make sure to turn in both money and the 2nd 1/2 of the ticket stub. 
  • Attention Scholastic Bowl Team members- there will be a mandatory meeting on this afternoon for all members.
  • Attention all Youth Alive club members- t-shirts will be handed out today during lunch. 
  • The cafe will be swapping Thursday's and Friday's lunch. 
  • Attention all students- Picture re-takes are in. Pick up yours in Ms Holmans room 216 before school, after school, or during 5th prd.
  • Attention all seniors- This Friday, the 27th, is the last day to let the yearbook staff know which senior portrait you want  in the yearbook. Let Ms Holman know the 4 digit pose number of your preference by Friday, or the yearbook staff will choose one for you. 
  • All students- Be sure to come by the gravel parking lot for the tailgate before the game on Friday! We will tailgate from 5-6pm. Hamburgers, hotdogs will be sold for only $3.00 along with chips and drinks. Come and support your Falcons this Friday!

  • Congratulations to the Cross Country teams for their amazing performances at the Mountain District Championship yesterday in Wise. AHS CC teams claimed all four individual titles. Both teams will compete next Wednesday in Salem in the 3A Region D Championship.

  • The gym will be closed today for the PSAT testing. Students will not be allowed to access the wellness room, locker rooms, etc. All PE classes will meet in the auditorium.

  • The AHS marching band participated in the 32nd Annual Appalachian Band Festival on Saturday. Competing in the top class, the Falcon band placed 2nd in music, 2nd in visual ensemble, and 1st place General Effect and won 1st place overall in the class. Drum major Jared S. and our color guard both won 1st place. Congrats! 
  • Attention all scholastic bowl team members- if you are traveling tonight to Lee Co tonight, you need to let Ms Singleton konw ASAP. Please do so before lunchtime today. 
  • Attention TSA members- please turn in your signed affiliation packets to Madison R. this morning between classes.  
  • Bus duty will be in the auditorium this afternoon.
