  • This is a reminder for those Juniors & Seniors who received NHS candidate forms-these are due to Mr. Sheets or Ms. Pollard by Thursday afternoon.
  • Attention Juniors - you have just over a week to purchase prom tickets at a reduced rate. Tickets are $25 per person until March 1st. After March 1 the price will increase to $37.50. You may make a deposit of at least $5 to reserve your tickets. Please see Ms. Beverly in room 121 to buy tickets.

  • National Art Honor Society Members, there are two projects left for your 5 service hours this year. Project 1 is an 8x10 framed falcon. Spirit hall artwork that is due this Friday. Project 2 will start next week, Tuesday thru Friday after school for the Falcon Spirit Hall and will continue weekly after school until completion.
  • Any boy interested in playing tennis will need to meet at the Coomes Center after school today.

  • On Thursday, February 15th, twelve swimmers from AHS Swim Team traveled to Richmond to compete in the VHSL State Championships.  The AHS Girls 400 Free relay team placed 8th overall, going to the Medal Podium to receive their awards.  Hannah M., Mikan S., Megan B. and Kimberly L. also broke an AHS record from 2005 with a 4:02;54, while winning the award.  Individuals placing in the top 16 were Jackson B. 13th in the 100 back, Kolbe B. 15th in the 100 breaststroke, Mack H. 10th in the 200 free, Mikan S. 15th in the 100 back, and Kimberly L. 7th in the 50 free and 7th in the 100 free. Congratulations to all the AHS Swimmers for a Great Season!
  • Girls Tennis practice will start Tuesday, February 20th after school at the Coomes Center.
  • The Forensics & Debate team will meet in Dr. Hurd's room on Monday, February 19th after school. Please make arrangements to attend.
  • Congratulations to the wrestling team for finishing 8th out of 40 teams at the State Championship this weekend! The following wrestlers earned a place on the State podium and medals: Jack N. finished 3rd at 126 pounds, Jack C. finished 2nd at 145 pounds, William S. finished 3rd at 182 pounds, and Ethan R. finished 5th at 220 pounds. Congratulations to the entire team for an amazing season!

  • Juniors and Seniors: We will be having our annual career fair in the gym on Tuesday, February 20th during 3rd period. Businesses from across the region will be present to talk with you about career opportunities, education requirements, etc.. This year you will be required to scan a QR code at each table you visit during the fair, and those juniors or seniors with 5 or more scans will be entered to win a prize. You can scan QR codes using a QR scanner app, your cell phone camera or by using Snapchat. Please be sure you have one of these capabilities before entering the career fair on Tuesday.
  • The Forensics & Debate team will meet in Dr. Hurd's room on Monday, February 19th after school. Please make arrangements to attend.
  • GATE students please check your email as soon as possible. There are a couple of activities coming up and a response is needed.
  • Attention Seniors: This is the last call to pick up cap and gown picture proofs from Mrs. Cumbow's room. They will be sent back next week.
