Daily Announcements

  • Attn Juniors:Please check your Wash Co email for a test email from Ms Gross. Scheduling and other info will be sent via this email early this week. If you cannot get in or have forgotten your log-in please see Ms Thomas in the library. 
  • The ASVAB (military entrance exam) will be given at the Wash Co Career and Tech Center on Friday Feb 3. The test will begin promptly at 12:30 and run until 3:15. The test is required for students who are considering entrance into any branch of the US military, but it does not commit students to join. Students may ride the afternoon bus to the Neff Center, but will have to arrange transportation after the test is over. Any student who is interested in taking the ASVAB please pick up a permission slip from the guidance office.

  • Attn Juniors: prom tickets are now on sale. Tickets are $25 per person before March 1. After this the price will increase to $37.50 per person. Seniors only need to buy a ticket for out of school dates- for $10.00. See Ms Beverly in room 222 to purchase. 
  • Governor McAuliffe and Virginia Council on Women announce the 6th Annual STEM Essay Contest.Female juniors or senior students interested in pursuing a STEM career  though higher education can compete for scholarships through the STEM Essay Contest. See links on previous day. Must be completed by Feb 20.

  • Volleyball open gym for any returning player will be today after school in the gym.

  • Attn all TSA members- all club meetings will now take place in the library. This will be for the rest of the year.

  • If you are interested in public speaking, we are looking for you! The AHS Forensics team needs members. If you are interested please see Dr Hurd in room 201 between now and Wednesday afternoon.

  • Attn students- the lost and found is getting extremely full. If you are missing items please stop by the main office and see if we have your items. 
  • Congrats to K. Thiessen! He has been selected by the State of Franklin Track Club as High School Boy Runner of the Year for 2016! 
  • Congrats to the indoor track team who competed at the Milestat Va Showcase!
